Printing multiple colours

Screen printing inks will blend colour when printed together, so for multiple colours you need to print them separately - this being one colour per screen. This jig is designed for printing only single colour onto t-shirts in one operation, however you can print multiple colours onto items by printing in separate operations.

This works best for plastics, metals and other items where you can create a simple registration guide on the board to re-align the item for the next colour.

A picture of such registration is illustrated right. Jig hinges are used to hold this frame above the pen which is aligned by two plastic guides back and bottom of item.

This same process is applied to the S-360SK jig.

Note on t-shirt printing

Printing multiple colours in this jig requires white area around the colours, as you must remove the t-shirts between colours and registration will not be as accurate as the 4 arm jig. When returning the t-shirt to the jig for subsequent colours best results are achieved though colours distanced apart.

Registration of the colours is critical, or the design will simply look distorted. The 4 arm jig can be used for printing 1 to 4 colours with perfect registration of each colour, as the screen comes down over the item in the same place every time - making printing fast and more accurate than without a jig.

Print 'off contact' with single arm jig

This jig is suitable for printing plastics, metals and items ‘off contact’, as the clamps allow up to a 32mm thickness using the Plastic Frame Mounts (25mm with Metal).

Print flat sheets e.g. stickers, magnets & signs or raised items e.g. pens, lighters, folders, etc.

Don't forget when printing 'off contact' to also get the height of the screen correct at time of alignment as well!
