Why the NEHOC system is so simple
Making a screen with RISO Screen Printing Kit

Above: Making a screen with NEHOC Screen Printing Kit

NEHOC makes a screen from your artwork in seconds - best of all at low cost from a bench top!

Artwork - Photocopy or laser print
Fast chemical FREE imaging process
Easy mounting takes seconds
Professional quality prints

Chemical FREE screen printing

It’s hard to believe professional results can be achieved without using chemicals, however the NEHOC system uses a simple thermal process to transfer your design onto the ScreenMaster screen mesh by using a simple carbon design - photocopy, laser print, hand drawn or artwork books. The design burns away the thermal film pre-coated on the ScreenMaster mesh, the process can be performed on a bench top, in any light conditions, and is completely safe.

ScreenMaster pre-tensioned mesh

Take your designs on and off the frame without changing/ distorting the design through the use of ScreenMaster pre-tensioned screens.

Once you have finished screen printing a design, remove it from the frame and store for later use (or discard if not required) then you can place a new design onto the same frame and save on materials. You won’t build up a store of bulky wooden frames and will lower your ongoing operating costs by re-using materials and equipment.

Getting started

There are hundreds of different screen printing applications, most can be put into two broad categories:

1/ Fabric Printing - T-shirts, Bags, Hats, Clothing, Fabric and Material, Curtains, etc.
2/ Plastics, Metals & Non-absorbent Surfaces - Pens, Lighters, Signs, Glass, Display Boards and Materials, etc.

Fabric printing is a simple straight forward task that doesn’t involve much equipment or prior screen printing experience, in fact all you need is the NEHOC Screen Printing Kit and a bench to start printing immediately.

If you want to print plastics, metals and non-absorbent materials you may require a screen printing jig and other accessories depending upon the materials and sizes you wish to print.

Outline of traditional screen making methods

You can buy thick manuals on how to learn traditional screen making from art/ craft shops, and still not get it right, as it uses out dated, messy, labour intensive processes that are just not worth the expense and effort - especially when you only make a few screens a year or want to print a few items at a time.

A traditional screen is made by placing a prepared design against the back of a preframed screen mesh, coating the entire screen with a blocking chemical and exposing to U.V. light. The U.V. hardens the chemical except where light can’t penetrate - where the design is. The design is removed and the screen washed to remove the blocking chemical from the design area. For more details on the process visit your local library - with plenty of time to spare.

Another method of making a screen is to a cut out an adhesive film which is stuck to the back of the screen. As you must use a knife/ blade to cut our the film, the process is extremely time consuming and quality is VERY poor - no fine detail.

With the above understood, forget the mess, forget the wasted time, forget the expense - experience the NEHOC system.
