December 2000 -
WINNERS ANNOUNCED!
It's time to announce the winners of the Serious Fun GOCCO Competition. It was a tough decision and in the end we awarded two equal second prizes instead of a second and third prize.
First prize goes to St. Teresa's School, Ravenshoe. They win a new CD printer and accessories worth $360.00!!!
We hope to bring you photos of them accepting their award next week. We are also told that a P&C parent is working with the school to make special presentation gifts for the students: their photos in glass frames with their names etched on them.
Equal Second Prizes go to
Mission Beach State School and South Johnstone State School.
They both win PRINT GOCCO printing packs each worth $126.49, kindly donated by
NEHOC Australia. These packs include tube wringers, felt kits, ink cones and many other useful items for them to experiment with.
At the lovely Mission Beach School, we are told the students are working on a screen printing project for the end of the year, in which sixteen different designs of their own will be printed onto T-shirts. We will have details for you in next week's final update of the Serious Fun Series.
South Johnstone School were taking advantage of their $50 Monthly Prize from the previous month when we arrived to present their
prize. This was a craft lesson with Chris Archer of Paints, Brushes & Things and Arts & Crafts Across Australia
[pictured with their creations]. The school is now working on presentation certificates for the end of the year.
Here are just a few pics of the Serious Fun Lessons and the things the schools made in them.
